By car

Open this link to drive with waze until Encanto Lodge

If you have your own car, you can drive until Encanto Lodge. We recommend using a 4×4 vehicle (gravel roads). You can drive on the interamericana or costanera street to the south of COSTA RICA until

a) Chacarita, there turn right in the direction to Pto. Jimenez. After the village Rincon, just before the bridge, turn right in the direction to Drake Bay. Please follow this street until the village El Progreso de Drake (DO NOT turn left in the direction of the bridge and other hotels/restaurants of Drake Bay). When you are in El Progreso, turn right into the direction to the airport: we have a sign with a scarlet macaw on the road´- if you reached the Rio Drake, you missed the turn. After the airport follow the little private street on the left hand until the end. You reached our parking lot (free parking). This road is usually accessible all year round.

b) Palmar Norte, then turn right after the bridge to Sierpe, there take the ferry over the river Sierpe and continue to drive until El Progreso de Drake where you turn right. Then you turn the second street right again to the direction of Drake airport (scarlet macaw sign), after the airport you follow the little private street on the left hand until you reach our parking lot (end of the dead end road, free parking). This road is usually only passable during summer, please only go there if somebody tells you the road is fine.

By bus

There is a bus from La Palma to Drake Bay. However, it travels only Monday-Saturday and very irregularly. If you have no other option we recommend to ask at the place of departure about the schedule. You can also message us so we can ask directly the bus owner and reserve you a space. You need to get out in El Progreso at the Entrance to the airport. Please let us know about your arrival and we pick you up (free service).
